What Does The Procedure for mini dental implants Involve?

What Does The Procedure Involve?

This unique, minimally invasive procedure can usually be completed in just one office visit.  First, an initial exam will determine if you are a candidate for mini dental implants, which require a sufficient base of jaw bone for their placement.  If we decide to do this relatively trouble-free procedure, you’ll be given mild anesthesia and we’ll gently insert several dental implants into your front lower jaw.  Once secure, we will adjust your denture so that it connects with your new implants.   The result is that your lower denture is now firmly in place and you can speak and eat with confidence.
Proper Care of Dental Implants for Dentures
Please understand that your dental implants, just like natural teeth, are subject to damage from natural causes, including osteoporosis, poor oral hygiene, wear and tear attrition, poor health, heavy, stressful biting habits, and lack of follow-up dental maintenance care. As always, proper diet, good oral hygiene and regular dental visits are the keys to extending the life of your dental implant and your winning smile.

Dental Implants for Dentures

What Are Dental Implants For Dentures?

We take pride in offering our patients the latest technology in dental implants.   We use an FDA-approved dental implant system that is proven to provide a long term solution for many of our denture wearing patients.  This dental implant system, which is patient-friendly and cost-effective, includes a miniature titanium (an extremely strong and durable metal) implant with a ball-shaped head which acts like the root of a tooth and a tiny retaining fixture which acts as a socket. An O-ring connects the two and securely holds the denture in place, which provides comfort and peace of mind when speaking and chewing.

A Better Solution for Common Denture Problems
We have found that some denture wearers suffer physical discomfort, unpleasant breath, and even embarrassment when their dentures move unexpectedly during speaking or chewing.  Using dental implants to stabilize loose or poorly fitting lower dentures often brings relief and solves these common problems.

Make Your Gums Healthy Again

There is one thing you really need to know about fighting gum disease: One size does not fit all. The human body is unique to each person. As you may know, in medicine, there is never a single treatment that works 100% of the time. People are different and different treatments or different combinations of treatment work for different people.
Some things that are helpful are oral irrigation, essential oils, herbal remedies, brushing gently (not hard) and using dental tape over regular dental floss. Unfortunately, the myth exists that mere brushing and flossing will prevent gum disease. That may be true in a few cases for some very unique individuals, but it is not true for the majority.
Most people, according to statistics, either have now, or will have some form of this disease in their lifetime. To be proactive or to defeat an existing case of gum disease requires more than a basic understanding. It is crucial to learn what you can about this disease because so many people contract it and it can, in the worst case scenarios, cause your teeth to fall out.
You do not want this to happen to you. You also do not want to get to the point where your options become limited. That is when you have lost so much gum tissue and your teeth are so loose that only surgery may help. Then too, you may find the results limited.
The goal is to keep your natural teeth and avoid implants and dentures. When you go down the path of dentures or implants, you could lose bone mass in your jaw as well. Be aware of these things. Few dentists have time to educate their patients properly. Next: Follow the links below to learn what you can do to defeat gum disease and prevent it from coming back again.
